American Sponge Cake

- The American Sponge cake:

As I said, has the same ingredients in the sponge, but is made with only egg whites. This is because the Americans stuffing their cakes with butter cream and then to give lightness to prefer the sweet sponge cake is made without egg yolks.

American Sponge Cake                                            


360 grams of egg white
200 grams of caster sugar
5 grams  of baking
150 grams of flour
150 grams of caster sugar
2 grams of lemon peel
2 grams of salt
1 sachet of Vanillin

Use the same procedure of the recipe "pasta Genoise", and then follow with that described for the sponge cake. (Click here)
